Living in Ida Sproul Hall: what to know before you pack
The room
Ida Sproul is one of four original 1964 Warnecke high-rises in Unit 3. Rooms are configured as doubles, triples, or limited singles. Like all Berkeley residence halls, beds are XL twin (80"×36") — bring XL twin sheets, though standard XL may fit loosely given the 36" width. Day to day
Bathrooms are community-style, shared by floor. Daily Cal coverage has noted more wear in Unit 3's shared bathrooms than in Units 1 and 2 — this is worth factoring into your packing list (flip-flops for showers, a good shower caddy). Café 3 is the nearest dining hall.
Move-in day
Ida Sproul is on Channing Way in the Southside neighborhood, grouped with Norton, Priestley, and Spens-Black. Move-in is mid-August. As one of the taller high-rises in the complex, elevator wait times during move-in weekend can be long — arriving with fewer, better-organized loads helps.
