Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
We keep privacy simple. We collect only what we need to make DormMoveIn work, and we never sell or share your information.
What we collect
Waitlist signups
Your email address and optional first name, entered via the “Notify me” form on school pages. We use this only to email you when that school goes live on DormMoveIn.
Your dorm list
Your email address, entered when you save your list. We use this only to send you a secure magic link so you can access your list from any device.
Family reminders
Your email address, entered on a shared list page. We use this only to send you a reminder if items on the list are still unclaimed closer to move-in day.
Analytics
We use a few analytics tools to understand which pages are useful and which product links people click:
- Vercel Analytics counts page visits. It collects no personal data and sets no cookies.
- PostHogrecords page views and clicks, and may record anonymized sessions with everything you type masked. It helps us find what's broken or confusing.
- Google Analytics measures traffic and lets us see whether our Google ads work. It uses cookies. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) lets us measure whether our ads on those platforms lead to visits and product clicks, and may be used to show our ads to people who visited the site. It uses cookies. You can control this in your Facebook ad preferences.
None of these tools receive your email address from us, and you can block their cookies in your browser settings without breaking the site.
Affiliate links
Some product links are Amazon affiliate links. Clicking them takes you to Amazon. We receive a small commission if you buy something, but Amazon does not share your personal information with us.
What we don't do
We never sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone.
Removing your data
Reply to any email we send you and ask to be removed, or email support@dormmovein.com.
