The room

Pomfret rooms follow the same door/window mixed-bed pattern as Yocum -- a 36x75 regular twin on the door side and a 36x80 long twin on the window side -- with mattress thickness varying by wing: about 10 inches in B- and D-wing, about 7.5 inches in C-wing. End rooms in C- and D-wing get a 36x80 long twin on both sides instead. Each room comes with two beds, two lockable desks with gaming chairs, two wardrobes with shelves and a hanging rack, and two dressers. Beds adjust every three inches from 24 to 59 inches of clearance in all three wings. One quirk worth knowing: students are not allowed to paint their rooms. Instead, each wing already has a Benjamin Moore accent color on a single wall -- November Skies blue in C-wing and on B-wing floors 2, 5 and 8; Delightful Golden tan in D-wing and on B-wing floors 3 and 6; Fresh Olive green on B-wing floors 4 and 7 -- so plan your decor around the wall you're given.

For fall 2026, D-wing is all female while B- and C-wing are coed by floor. Only the B-wing has an elevator, so C- and D-wing residents rely on stairs. The building is unusually self-contained: its own dining hall overlooks the Great Room, plus two classrooms, meeting rooms, a music room, study lounges with printer access, a piano, laundry, and mental health services. It sits on the athletics side of campus -- about three minutes' walk to Bud Walton Arena and four to the HPER recreation complex, though roughly 12 minutes to Razorback Stadium and 11 to the Arkansas Union, so it trades some walking distance to the academic core for proximity to recreation and its own dining.

Move-in day

Pomfret is not part of the Aug. 5, 2026 opening day, which covers only Hotz, Humphreys and Yocum; Pomfret residents arrive Aug. 6, 7 or 8, with move-in continuing Aug. 10-14. Because Pomfret sits on the athletics side of campus, it's typically a longer drive from the Baum-Walker Stadium check-in point than the central halls. Remember that only the B-wing has an elevator -- if you're assigned to C- or D-wing on an upper floor, budget extra time and hands for stairs. As with every hall, you get 30 minutes to unload at the lot, then no time limit for moving belongings in.
