Day to day

Calhoun's common spaces reflect its recent renovation: a study floor with whiteboards and digital monitors, floor lounges with seating and large windows, a common kitchen with appliances, vending machines, and tables, a patio with lounge furniture, and a south lobby with sofas and tables. Residents also share the ground-level Siddall Fitness Center with Siddall Hall next door. Calhoun is home to the ELLC, the College of Engineering & Applied Science Living-Learning Community, and sits in the heart of Clifton Heights near Calhoun Street dining and entertainment -- a combination that makes it one of UC's most requested traditional halls, so apply early once the portal opens.

Move-in day

Calhoun follows UC's shared first-year move-in window of August 18-20, 2026 -- there is no Calhoun-specific day. Individual appointment times (9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 18th and 19th, 9 a.m.-noon on the 20th) are assigned through the housing portal in late July; the Calhoun Garage is one of UC's four check-in staging locations, though UC notes your assigned garage is not necessarily your residence location. Required first-year floor meetings are held August 20 -- UC's page text says 4 p.m. and its table says 4:45 p.m. Classes begin August 24.
