Wright State University Freshman Dorms 2026

Wright State presents on-campus housing as a choice among three first-year communities rather than a mandate — no live-on requirement was found in official policy pages. Hamilton Hall, Honors Community, and The Woods all use fixed-height XL twin beds that only Housing Maintenance staff can bunk or reconfigure; students may not loft or alter a bed frame themselves. The Woods' resident-controlled A/C isn't operable below 65°F outside. A residential dining plan is required in all three halls. Fall 2026 move-in is August 19-20.

What to bring to Wright State Universitydorms — and what’s already there

Every Wright Statefreshman hall includes the same base furnishings. Skip anything already in your room, pack what’s missing, and leave the banned items at home.

Students cannot loft or alter their own bed frame in any Wright State hall — bed risers are also banned. Bunk requests go to Housing Maintenance, who alone can reconfigure the frame.

Wireless routers, portable A/C units, and space heaters with exposed coils are all prohibited.
