UNC Charlotte Freshman Dorms 2026
UNC Charlotte requires all first-time, first-year (FTIC) students to live on campus for one full year, housing most freshmen across South Village halls with adjustable, bunkable Twin XL bed frames. Automatic exemptions cover students from Mecklenburg or a neighboring county, those under 16 or over 21, international F-1/J-1 students, prior military service, and married students, with discretionary exemptions available for dependent children, caregiving, financial hardship, or a sibling living off campus — there is no GPA-based exemption. Fall 2026 move-in runs Wednesday, August 12 through Saturday, August 15, with individual arrival-time slots assigned through the Online Housing System.
