What to bring to SFAdorms — and what’s already there
Every SFAfreshman hall includes the same base furnishings. Skip anything already in your room, pack what’s missing, and leave the banned items at home.
⚠ Fish are the only pet allowed, 5-gallon max, no birds -- per the current 2026-2027 Community Guidelines.
⚠ Non-LED string/rope/twinkle lights are banned, but LED decorative lights are explicitly allowed.
⚠ Windows in centrally air-conditioned halls (Steen, Hall 10, Hall 14, Lumberjack Landing, Griffith, Kerr) must stay closed at all times.
⚠ Hall 10's first-year classification is genuinely unresolved: its own page restricts it to first-time/first-year students, but SFA's own Community Guidelines' list of first-year residence halls excludes it.
