It shares the community-first layout of NAU's other traditional halls — study lounges and smaller study rooms, a TV game room with a pool table above the main lobby, a community kitchen on each floor, laundry rooms, a 24-hour computer lab and classroom space — plus two inner courtyards with seating and a main lobby built around a two-sided fireplace. At three stories it is a lower-rise, more walkable building than the Reilly and Sechrist high-rises, and NAU places it in the Central District with bus stops nearby and a short walk to Target.

Move-in day

Tinsley falls inside NAU's general fall 2026 move-in window, August 19-24, with an early-arrival day on August 18 at $50 per night. NAU's calendar does not assign halls or community types to particular days — all six are general move-in days — so your date is set by the 40-minute arrival appointment you reserve in the Housing Portal, bookable 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the storage question: the loft height is built into the frame NAU issues, and you should not buy your own hardware to supplement it, because NAU's What to Bring list marks lofts and cinder blocks as prohibited.
