Living in Wing/Davis/Wilks: what to know before you pack

The room

Wing/Davis/Wilks is one of UVM's older standard-tier residence halls on Redstone Campus, and the rooms feel it: hall-style singles, doubles, and triples along mixed-gender floors, each with the standard XL twin bed, desk, chair, and dresser that every UVM room gets. Air conditioning isn't listed for the building — window units and portable AC are banned campus-wide anyway — so a box fan is essentially mandatory for the first hot weeks of the semester. Beds can be bunked or lofted on the university-installed frame to free up floor space, but the safety rail has to stay on. Bathrooms are communal and gendered, cleaned on weekdays by custodial staff, a step down in privacy from the newer premium-tier halls but standard for most of campus.

Redstone Campus parking and unloading zones get busy fast on move-in days, so families should plan to follow the university's posted traffic pattern rather than improvising a shortcut.
