Every room comes with the standard XL twin bed, desk, chair, and dresser, and beds can be bunked or lofted on the university-installed frame — the safety rail stays attached either way. Air conditioning isn't listed for MSH, so a fan is a practical add to the packing list. Bathrooms are communal and gendered in all three buildings, with two per floor, plus one added perk in Simpson Hall: a single private restroom on each floor, a small but real privacy upgrade over Wing/Davis/Wilks or Marsh/Austin/Tupper.

Kitchens are available in both Mason and Hamilton halls for group cooking, and residents have easy access to Redstone Dining Hall and the Redstone Market, both a short walk away on the same campus. As an enhanced-tier hall, MSH sits a step above standard-tier buildings like Wing/Davis/Wilks in amenities and typically in cost, without reaching the premium pricing of Central Campus Residence Hall or University Heights. Move-in day

Fall 2026 first-year move-in is Wednesday, August 26 or Thursday, August 27, with arrival windows for each student released through the housing portal in early August. Redstone Campus hosts several residence halls, so move-in traffic and unloading zones can be busy — families should follow UVM's posted route rather than trying to park close to the building.
