The room

Towers rooms are doubles, with some triples, spread across six buildings whose half- and quarter-wings each carry their own name — sixteen in all: Allen, Beecher, Colt, Fenwick, Hamilton, Jefferson, Keller, Kingston, Lafayette, Morgan, Sherman, Sousa, Trumbull, Vinton, Wade, and Webster. Every room has the standard XL twin bed (80" x 36"), desk, chair, and dresser, and UConn notes the furnishings were all new in 2020. Beds bunk, loft, or sit on the floor, so roommates have real flexibility to open up floor space — though Towers uses the zTrak Bed System and has its own bunking instructions separate from the rest of campus. Floors split evenly by gender policy: Allen, Beecher, Colt, Jefferson, Kingston, Sherman, Vinton, and Webster are all single-gender floors, while Fenwick, Hamilton, Keller, Lafayette, Morgan, Sousa, Trumbull, and Wade are all co-ed. There's no AC anywhere in Towers, so most residents run a personal fan through the late-August heat and into the fall.

Day to day

Laundry is concentrated in Webster and Allen halls rather than spread across every building, so plan a short walk on wash day. Gelfenbein Commons (the Towers Dining Hall) is the closest dining option and central to the community's social life, and a meal plan is required. The Towers Student Center holds both the game room and the mailroom (upper level), and the quad has basketball and volleyball courts. There are 24 Resident Assistants led by 2 Residence Hall Directors. Resident student parking is available on site, which is a step up from Alumni Quad, where there is none. The Yellow Line bus serves the area.

Move-in day

First-year residents move in on either August 27 or 28, 2026, with UConn assigning each student one specific day rather than a general window. The Towers area office is in Lafayette Hall, first floor, which is also where to go with questions once you arrive. Because resident student parking is available directly on site at 3384 Towers Loop Road, families can typically unload close to their building rather than shuttling from a remote lot.
