Living in Dadisman Hall: what to know before you pack

The room

Dadisman Hall, located behind the Mountainlair Student Union on WVU's downtown campus, offers single and double rooms only — there are no triples and no suites in this building. The hall is organized into Dadisman East and Dadisman West sections, which share identical furnishings. Bathrooms are community-style, with a large shared bathroom on each floor. Every room includes a study desk and chair, a dresser, a free-standing wardrobe or closet, drapes, and an extra-long twin bed with roughly 11 3/4" of under-bed clearance measured at the frame's highest setting; the frame adjusts, but lofting and bunking are banned campus-wide and only 6-inch plastic risers are permitted. Wall mirrors are described by WVU as "not consistent," so bring one if it matters to you. Originally built as the Women's Hall Annex, Dadisman is now coed and open to all undergraduates, though its size and layout make it a common first-year assignment.

Day to day

With about 359 residents, Dadisman is a mid-sized downtown hall known for its straightforward layout — no suites, no triples, no themed Living-Learning Community, just single and double rooms off a community bathroom. It sits adjacent to Stalnaker Hall and near Boreman, a short walk from downtown Morgantown's shops, restaurants, and the Monongahela River waterfront. The building is not air conditioned — one of only two WVU halls in that category — so residents rely on open windows and fans through the warmer parts of the fall semester. Rooms are not carpeted. Amenities are basic: cable TV, WiFi, laundry, a recreation room, a community lounge, and study rooms, rather than the fitness rooms or dining halls found in some other WVU buildings.

Move-in day

Dadisman's move-in falls within WVU's general Fall 2026 window, Thursday, August 13 through Saturday, August 15. Because the hall has no air conditioning, pack a fan along with typical move-in gear — WVU specifically recommends this for buildings without AC. Community bathrooms mean shower shoes, a caddy, and a bathrobe are worth prioritizing over items meant for a private bath. Dadisman's downtown location near the Mountainlair puts move-in traffic in the same congested window as Boreman and Stalnaker, so an early arrival time helps beat the rush. A rug is worth bringing since rooms aren't carpeted.

Thinking About Living in Dadisman Hall Next Year?

If you're choosing housing for next year rather than packing for move-in, here's what's already verified about Dadisman Hall: it has XL Twin, buy 38"×80" sheets beds with Multiple heights, ~12 in. clearance of under-bed clearance, and there's no AC, so plan around that. On top of that, the room comes with recreation room, study rooms, community lounge, study desk and chair, dresser, free-standing wardrobe or closet, drapes, wastebasket; you'll need to bring fan (building has no AC), bath towels, shower shoes, carpeting, fitness room, air conditioning yourself; same campus-wide prohibited list isn't allowed. The full day-to-day breakdown above covers the room, the building, and move-in day in more depth.
