University of Virginia Freshman Dorms 2026
All first-year students must live on Grounds — this is a real, universal mandate with only case-by-case exceptions (non-traditional age, parents). Move-in is split by building/room assignment: Thursday Aug 20 or Friday Aug 21, 2026, released with room assignments in late June. First-years may not register or park a vehicle on Grounds at all.
