Longwood University Freshman Dorms 2026
Longwood University is a public university in Farmville, Virginia, home of the Lancers. New first-year students are required to live in University-managed housing for their first three years, not just freshman year, unless they commute from a parent or guardian's home in one of eight surrounding counties (Amelia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway, or Prince Edward) or meet another published exception. Most first-years land in one of four halls: Sharp and Register, twin 2016 buildings whose Twin XL beds adjust from 7 to 30 inches off the floor without a work order; Wheeler, a 1966 hall anchoring the Cormier Honors College, whose beds arrive fixed at 23 inches and need a facilities work order to change; and Johns and Moss, twin 10-story towers built in 1969-70 that together house more than 70% of the first-year class, where Moss is designated alcohol-free for every resident regardless of age.
