Living in Kittredge Central Hall: what to know before you pack
The room
Kittredge Central mixes shared-bath doubles and singles with community-bath doubles, singles, and a bunked triple, so bathroom setup varies more here than in most first-year halls. The standout feature is air conditioning — listed explicitly among the hall's features — which is genuinely uncommon among CU Boulder's first-year buildings and worth prioritizing if summer heat is a concern. Every room still uses the standard extra-long twin bed (80 x 36 x 7 in.) with no lofting: Facilities can lower a bed two levels on a work order, but beds cannot be raised or lofted, and the bunked triple arrives already bunked. That leaves about 35 inches of clearance under a standard-height bed. Rooms include a free Microfridge plus a separate microwave and run about 60-100 square feet per resident, consistent with the rest of campus.
Day to day
As a recently renovated hall, Kittredge Central hosts the Pre-Business RAP, the Leeds Scholars and Honors LLC, and an invitation-only first-year track for College of Business and Pre-Business students, alongside standard traditional housing open to first-year, transfer, and returning students from most colleges. It sits within the larger Kittredge Complex, which it shares with Kittredge West — a small self-contained neighborhood compared to central campus's older halls. A staffed front desk, free laundry, an in-hall dining facility, adjacent dining, community kitchen access, lounge and study space, elevator access, and Buff Bus access round out daily amenities, and the presence of A/C makes it a frequently requested option during housing selection.
Move-in day
Kittredge Central follows CU Boulder's Fall 2026 move-in window, Sunday, August 16 through Tuesday, August 18, with a required appointment self-selected via MyCULiving between June 9 and July 14, 2026, plus a change window July 22-26. Because Kittredge sits in its own complex slightly apart from central campus, plan for a longer walk or a different drop-off lane than halls like Hallett or Sewall — check the specific loading zone assigned for the Kittredge Complex ahead of time. One upside: with air conditioning already installed, there's no urgency to move fans or window units in on day one, which frees up trip capacity for other essentials.
