Living in Neptune Community: what to know before you pack
The room
Neptune is UCF's only suite-style first-year community with fully private bedrooms — four residents per suite, each with their own bedroom, sharing two bathrooms between them. Every bedroom is furnished with an X-Long Twin (80") bed, desk and chair, dresser, shelves, closet, and a vanity area with sink, and utilities are included with no cap. Neptune's frames measure 80" long by 37" wide — slightly wider than Libra's and Lake Claire's — with 30" of under-bed height. Neptune's buildings are numbered 156, 157, and 158. As with the rest of UCF's first-year communities, students can't loft or raise their own beds — mattresses arrive at the highest setting, additional lifts or risers of any kind are prohibited, and only maintenance staff may alter bed heights via a work order.
Day to day
Every floor has its own laundry room, a study lounge with a community kitchen, and a refillable water bottle station, plus a mail center, designated parking, and building-wide Wi-Fi with Knightflix access. Neptune also includes a classroom and a multipurpose space used for hall programs and events. Because bedrooms are private, Neptune tends to appeal to first-years who want their own room but still want suitemates and a shared community around them. One caveat worth knowing: UCF does not itemize air conditioning for Neptune anywhere on its official housing pages the way it does for Apollo, Libra, and the Lake Claire apartments — the Community Living Guide's campus-wide thermostat guidance implies climate control, but ask Housing directly if it matters to you.
Move-in day
Neptune's Fall 2026 move-in runs the standard Thursday, August 20 – Saturday, August 22 window, with 15-minute check-in appointment windows from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Neptune Multipurpose Room. The unloading zone depends on building: Building 156 residents use Lot B15, while Buildings 157 and 158 use Lot B8; long-term parking afterward is in the Libra Garage or Lot B7 depending on assignment, and it's valid only until Monday at 7 a.m. Bring a dolly, your photo ID and UCF ID, bottled water, and an umbrella for Orlando's typical August storms. Classes start the following Monday, August 24.

Neptune Community FAQ
- What makes Neptune different from Apollo or Libra?
- Neptune is UCF's only first-year suite community where every resident gets a fully private bedroom, rather than sharing a bedroom with a roommate.
- How many bathrooms per suite in Neptune?
- Four residents per suite share two bathrooms.
- Which buildings make up Neptune?
- Buildings 156, 157, and 158.
- Does Neptune have a kitchen?
- Each floor has a study lounge with a community kitchen; individual suites don't have private kitchens like Lake Claire's apartments. UCF's packing list allows toasters, air fryers and similar appliances 'only in apartment styles', and it does not state whether Neptune's floor-lounge kitchens qualify — assume they're banned in your bedroom or suite and check with your community office about the lounge.
- Is Neptune Community a good hall to live in?
- That depends on what you're optimizing for, but here's what's verified: Neptune Community has Twin XL · 80" mattress beds with 30" clearance; adjustable via work order of under-bed storage, and is only partially air conditioned. University of Central Florida provides Furnished private bedroom (X-Long twin bed, desk and chair, dresser, shelves, closet, vanity area with sink), laundry rooms on each floor, study lounges with community kitchens on each floor, refillable water bottle stations on each floor, mail center, designated parking, Wi-Fi, Knightflix, classroom and multipurpose space, all utilities with no cap in every room. Compare those specifics against your priorities — or see how Neptune Community stacks up against University of Central Florida's other halls above.
Thinking About Living in Neptune Community Next Year?
If you're choosing housing for next year rather than packing for move-in, here's what's already verified about Neptune Community: it has Twin XL · 80" mattress beds with 30" clearance; adjustable via work order of under-bed clearance, and AC is only partial in this building — some rooms have it, some don't.
