Living in Libra Community: what to know before you pack

The room

Libra's six residence halls — Brevard, Orange, Seminole, Citrus, Flagler, and Sumter — use two suite layouts: L-shaped suites and Pod-style suites. Both are two-bedroom suites housing four residents who share one bathroom between the two rooms. Bedrooms come furnished with an X-Long Twin (80") bed, desk and chair, dresser, shelves, closet, and a vanity area with sink, and utilities are included with no caps. Libra's frames measure 80" long by 36" wide with 30" of under-bed height. As at Apollo, bed height can only be changed by maintenance staff through a housing work order — students aren't permitted to add lifts or risers of any kind. Residents bring their own bedding, toilet paper, microwave (≤1,000W), and mini fridge (≤5 cu ft), since none of those are supplied.

Day to day

Libra shares Apollo's claim to UCF's most central first-year location, and its own amenities include two community laundry rooms, a community center with a community kitchen, a mail center, vending machines, and Wi-Fi throughout with Knightflix access. With six separate halls under one community, Libra tends to feel larger and more varied than some of the other first-year options, while still keeping the all-freshman social mix that the Academic Year Agreement communities are built around. Its size also means a wider spread of room layouts to choose from during selection, between the L-shaped and Pod-style suite options.

Move-in day

Libra's Fall 2026 move-in runs the same Thursday, August 20 – Saturday, August 22 window as the rest of campus, with 15-minute check-in appointment windows between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Check-in happens at the Libra Community Center, but the unloading zone depends on which hall you're assigned to: Seminole, Orange, Brevard, and Citrus residents unload at Lot B9, while Flagler and Sumter residents use Lot C3. After unloading, move vehicles to Garage B or the Libra Garage — that long-term parking is valid only until Monday at 7 a.m. Pack a dolly, your photo ID and UCF ID, and an umbrella; move-in week regularly sees afternoon storms.
