- What size bed is in K-State residence hall rooms?
- An extra-long twin. K-State publishes the frame, not the mattress: an 81-inch internal / 86-inch external frame with an approximately 7-inch mattress, mountable from the ground up to 70 inches high in 3-inch adjustments and loftable or bunkable. Exact mattress width and length are not published — buy a standard extra-long twin sheet set, which is what Housing's own What to Bring list specifies.
- Do K-State residence halls have air conditioning?
- K-State does not list air conditioning as an amenity on any hall page, but its Residence Hall Policies require 36 inches of clearance in front of the in-room "heating/AC unit" and name thermostats as university property, so rooms do appear to have built-in cooling. Personal air conditioners are banned campus-wide. Confirm your specific hall with Housing and Dining Services at 785-532-6453, and pack a fan for August and May either way.
- Can I bring a mini fridge and microwave?
- Yes. A refrigerator of 5.0 cubic feet or less and a microwave of 1200 watts or less are allowed. One exception: microwaves are provided in Wefald Hall and residents there should not bring their own.
