University of Arkansas Dorm Packing List 2026

Read before you pack
- Tampering with or disabling fire-safety equipment (smoke detectors, sprinklers, extinguishers, emergency lighting) carries a $500 minimum restitution plus possible prosecution.
- Burning candles, incense or aromatic herbs in a room is referred to the Office of Student Accountability and may result in a contract review with cancellation, not just a warning.
- Several traditional halls (Yocum, Pomfret, Futrall, and Humphreys) put two different mattress lengths in the same room -- a 36x75 regular twin and a 36x80 long twin -- so buy sheets per bed, not per room. Note that U of A's own pages disagree on which side is which in Humphreys; confirm on arrival before opening the packaging.
- The older community halls run on a two-pipe hydronic system: rooms have fan-coil units and thermostats, but Housing controls the seasonal changeover between heating and cooling centrally, so you cannot call for cool air before the campus-wide switch.
