Truman State University Freshman Dorms 2026
Truman State University requires all first-year students to live on campus, housing them across Missouri, Ryle, Centennial, and West Campus Suites in Kirksville (Dobson Hall stopped taking new room-selection assignments starting fall 2024). Every room comes with a bed frame and provided bunking/lofting hardware, a standard twin mattress (extra-long by request for students 6'4" or taller), a desk and chair, two bookshelves, drawer storage, and a closet or wardrobe, plus wired and wireless internet and cable TV — built-in air conditioning is standard everywhere except Centennial Hall. Fall 2026 move-in for new students is Wednesday, Aug. 12, with returning students arriving Aug. 15-16.

- Is on-campus housing required at Truman State?
- Yes — Truman requires all first-year students to live on campus, per Board of Governors policy. Exemptions require an approved Commuter Application: living within 50 miles with an immediate family member, being a transfer student with 30+ college credit hours, being married, a parent, or 21 or older, or another case approved by the Director of Residence Life.
- Which Truman residence halls allow alcohol?
- None do for underage students. Residents 21 and older may possess alcohol only in West Campus Suites and Centennial Hall — every other hall is dry regardless of resident age.
