- What size bed is in a Missouri S&T dorm room?
- An extra-long twin bed, standard across Thomas Jefferson Hall, Residential Commons, and University Commons. The bed frame's mechanism (fixed, bunkable, or height-adjustable) is not published by Residential Life.
- Are freshmen required to live on campus at Missouri S&T?
- Yes — undergrads must live in university-approved housing until they complete 4 semesters in that housing, complete 60 credit hours post-high-school, or turn 21 before the semester starts. Automatic exemptions exist for veterans (2+ years active duty), married students, parents/guardians with custody of dependents, students enrolled in 8 or fewer credit hours, and students whose immediate family lives within 60 miles of campus.
- What cooking appliances can I bring?
- Microwaves up to 0.8 cu ft (or, per the Residence Hall Guide, up to 700 watts), air fryers up to 6 quarts, hot pots, popcorn poppers, and coffee pots — all with an enclosed heating element. George Foreman grills, toasters, toaster ovens, and larger air fryers are prohibited in halls without kitchens.
- Can I bring my own refrigerator?
- Yes, up to 3.1 cubic feet (the Guide separately caps it at 3 cu ft), and no more fridges than beds in the room. One university refrigerator is already provided per room at no charge and may not be removed.
- When can I change my meal plan?
- Through the housing portal, during the first two weeks of the Fall or Spring semester, until 11:59 p.m. the second Sunday of classes.
- How does mail and roommate matching work?
- Each room has one shared mailbox for all roommates; oversized packages trigger a front-desk pickup email. New roommates complete an RA-facilitated roommate agreement early in the semester.
