Georgia State does not require first-year students to live on campus — it's a large, commuter-heavy urban campus in downtown Atlanta. Three residence halls anchor the traditional first-year experience: Patton Hall, Piedmont Central, and Piedmont North. All three provide 38x80in XL twin beds that are staff-adjustable for height via a work order; students may not build their own lofts or risers. Since Fall 2023, each provides a MicroFridge unit per bedroom instead of personal mini-fridges or microwaves. Fall 2026 move-in runs Tuesday, August 19 through Saturday, August 22.
