Living in Gannon-Goldsworthy: what to know before you pack

The room

Gannon/Goldsworthy pairs two adjoining South Campus buildings under one hall name, and the room specs split by side. Both use twin XL mattresses (80" L x 36" W) — WSU says sheets with deep pockets fit best — plus two closets (76"H x 45"W x 26" deep, with a 15"-high shelf above), a 40"W x 52"H x 24"D desk with chair, and a chest of drawers. Gannon's desk adds one shelf above and three drawers, paired with a 27"W x 60 11/16"H x 24"D dresser cabinet; Goldsworthy's desk comes with a detached three-drawer moveable cabinet alongside three stacking drawers (26 1/8"W x 10"H x 24"D each). Doubles run 10'6" wide by 16'3¼" long, carpeted, with 10'W x 3.5'H windows and 8 outlets, 2 on each side. Space under the bed ranges from 8 to 32 inches when unlofted, which matters most on the Gannon side where the bed cannot be raised at all.

Day to day

Gannon/Goldsworthy is home to 600 students and is the one hall WSU's residence-halls listing labels simply "Co-ed first-year students" — every other hall on campus is tagged for first-years and returners. Goldsworthy hosts the Wellness Living Learning Community for students centering holistic self-care and growth. Each floor has a study lounge, and there are two large study lounges on the main floor; separately, the main lounge holds a pool table, ping pong table, foosball table, big screen TV, and kitchen. Every floor has a washer and dryer with cost included in room and board, plus a microwave on every floor and a kitchen in the basement (personal microwaves are not allowed here). Two wheelchair-accessible rooms with private bathrooms and one hearing-impaired accessible room are available, both buildings have elevators, and bike racks sit under Goldsworthy. It's a South Campus community about a 7-minute walk to the CUB.

Move-in day

WSU's fall 2026 move-in weekend is Saturday–Sunday, August 15–16; students sign up for a specific time slot through the housing portal once they have a room assignment, and check in at Beasley Coliseum rather than driving straight to the hall. Area desks start accepting mailed packages Tuesday, August 11. Because Gannon and Goldsworthy split bed policies, check your assignment letter for the building before buying a loft kit — Goldsworthy residents can loft or bunk with WSU-approved equipment, while Gannon residents have a bed that cannot be raised.
