UNLV requires incoming freshmen from outside the Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, or Pahrump area (taking 6+ credits) to live on campus for their first year, with written exceptions for married students, veterans, transfer students with 2+ prior semesters elsewhere, students living locally with a parent or guardian, and certified medical or disability cases. Fall 2026 first-year move-in (Rebel Ready Week) is Sunday, August 16, with general move-in Thursday, August 20. All three first-year complexes — Dayton, Tonopah, and South — include A/C and heating campus-wide.
