Slippery Rock University Freshman Dorms 2026
SRU splits its four residence halls between two suite buildings (A and Watson/C) with a refrigerator and microwave in every unit, and two traditional halls (North and Rhoads) with none — bring your own within the campus caps of 4.2 cu ft and 1100W. All four halls are air-conditioned, and every bed campus-wide raises to 32 inches, though exact under-bed clearance isn't published. First-year students face a mandatory 2-year on-campus requirement with no GPA-based exemption. Fall 2026 move-in is Thursday, August 20, 8am-3pm.

What to bring to Slippery Rock Universitydorms — and what’s already there
Every SRUfreshman hall includes the same base furnishings. Skip anything already in your room, pack what’s missing, and leave the banned items at home.
⚠ Do not turn your thermostat below 65°F — SRU's official On-Campus Living Guide states this as a hard rule campus-wide.
⚠ Beds must stay on the floor and cannot be stacked on desks, dressers, or other furniture, and mattresses cannot be placed directly on the floor either.
⚠ Two official SRU sources disagree on the automatic thermostat range for North Hall, Rhoads Hall, and R.O.C.K. Apartments — the live Facilities & Furnishings page states 70-74°F, the July 2025 On-Campus Living Guide PDF states 68-72°F; both stay above the 65°F floor.
