  • OSU provides a combo fridge/freezer/microwave in every room — personal fridges and microwaves are prohibited. You cannot bring your own.
  • Self-constructed lofts are banned. Institutional lofting requests take at least 1 week to process and are not available in every hall.
  • Siebert Hall has no air conditioning. Columbus August temperatures regularly exceed 85°F with high humidity. Budget for a strong tower fan.

What’s different about Siebert Hall

The core checklist below works everywhere. These are the few things that are genuinely different about this building — get them right and the rest is easy.

No air conditioning

Siebert Hall has no AC. Move-in is late August and it gets hot and humid in Columbus, OH — a fan is the first thing to pack, not the last.

Beds loft for extra storage

Siebert Hall's frames raise or loft, so under-bed space is yours to create. Bed risers or a loft setup turn the area under the bed into room for bins, a mini-couch, or a desk.

Beds are XL Twin · 80"×36"

Standard twin bedding slips right off. Buy sheets, a topper, and a mattress pad labeled XL Twin specifically.

Fridge & microwave provided

Your room already includes a fridge/microwave unit — don't buy your own. Personal fridges and microwaves are almost always prohibited here anyway.
