Jacksonville State University Freshman Dorms 2026

Jacksonville State requires first-year students to live on campus, though students from Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, St. Clair, or Talladega counties can request a geographic exemption before August 1 -- but once you accept a housing key, that exemption and any cancellation right disappear for the year. The four traditional first-year halls -- Crow and Dixon on the north side, Curtiss and Fitzpatrick in the Stadium District -- all use the same height-adjustable Twin XL bed frame (36 in. standard, raises for 30.5 in. of under-bed clearance) and are air-conditioned. Fall 2026 move-in runs August 12-15 by building by day.

Do I need a mini-fridge and microwave at Jacksonville State?
Yes -- bring your own, capped at 4.6 cubic feet for the fridge and 1000 watts for the microwave, one of each per room.
