University of Louisiana Monroe Dorm Packing List 2026
Everything verified: what ULM puts in every room, what you need to bring, and what gets confiscated — pulled from housing agreements and updated for Fall 2026.
Read before you pack
- Bed bunking is strictly prohibited by the Fire Marshal campus-wide — nothing may be within 18 inches of the ceiling; bed risers under 9 inches are the only sanctioned alternative.
- Fire alarm tampering, removal, or misuse carries disciplinary action and up to a $500 fine.
- Propping an entrance/exit door: $100 first offense, escalating to $500 and possible dismissal from housing on a third offense.
- A meal plan is mandatory for every on-campus resident.
- "Freshman hall" is our own inference, not an ULM-stated designation — no ULM page labels Madison, Ouachita, or Masur as freshman-specific. The label reflects only that these are the traditional, cheapest, semi-private-bath dorm option.
- Ouachita Hall residents may only entertain male guests in the lobby — male guests are barred from residential floors and individual rooms entirely.

Air conditioning at ULM
All 3 verified ULMhalls have central AC. You don’t need to pack a fan for cooling, though many students bring a small one for air circulation and white noise.
