Read before you pack
- All first-year students are required to live on campus unless they are commuting from their primary guardian's permanent address within a 50-mile radius of campus.
- Every first-year resident must purchase a swipe meal plan through the housing application regardless of which hall they're assigned to.
- Bed frames in Phelps, Putnam, and Walton Halls cannot be lofted -- only raised, lowered, or bunked with a roommate -- unlike Wise Hall, where Facilities will loft a bed if you submit a work order in the first two weeks of the semester.
- The Thursday, August 27 first-year arrival date is tied to EMU Connect: EMU says students must register for orientation to secure it, and everyone else is scheduled starting Friday, August 28.
- EMU does not publish its prohibited-items, appliance size, or wattage limits on any accessible page -- they exist only in a bot-blocked PDF, so confirm fridge and microwave limits with Residence Life before buying.
