Read before you pack
- Personal window air conditioners are prohibited in every UA hall; even where AC exists, it runs only early May through early October.
- UA is partway through a $161M public-private housing renovation running through Fall 2027. Bulger Hall is closed for Fall 2026; Ritchie and Orr halls now serve only as temporary swing space, which is why they were dropped from this list in favor of Spanton, Honors Complex, South, and Spicer.
- Light renovations are scheduled in the Honors Complex and Spicer Hall starting summer 2026, and Spanton Hall's own renovation begins January 2027.

Air conditioning at Akron
All 4 verified Akronhalls have central AC. You don’t need to pack a fan for cooling, though many students bring a small one for air circulation and white noise.
