Everything verified: what FAMU puts in every room, what you need to bring, and what gets confiscated — pulled from housing agreements and updated for Fall 2026.
Read before you pack
- FAMU's on-campus requirement for FTIC students is "based on space availability" — housing is not guaranteed even for students who must comply, and several detailed exemptions exist (35-mile hometown, married, dependent child, 21+, military, case-by-case).
- Students who don't qualify for an exemption and live off campus anyway are charged two semesters' rent at the lowest facility rate for the year, per FAMU's Student Housing Agreement.
- Elevating beds on a homemade platform is banned campus-wide since frames already adjust for height; risers are allowed only up to six inches, and cinder blocks or bricks are banned outright as risers.
- Fall 2026 move-in is staggered by hall August 17-21; FAMU's own page header states the window runs through August 22 but never names a hall for that date — confirm your specific day with University Housing.
- Venom Landing (opened 2025) is not among the residential facilities listed in FAMU's Regulation 2.001 (dated 3/30/2023, before the hall existed), and no official FAMU page confirms it is freshman-designated — that claim traces only to a student newspaper, not the university's housing site.
