Read before you pack
- MicroFridge units are the only microwave allowed in any Clemson residence hall room due to building electrical/energy limits -- personal microwaves are not permitted.
- Homemade lofts, bed risers, and raised platform floors are banned as fire-code violations; only university-approved lofting per Clemson's official Lofting Guidelines is allowed.
- Extension cords are prohibited campus-wide -- bring only power strips with a built-in circuit breaker.
- First-year and Bridge students under 21 must live on campus unless they commute daily from a parent or legal guardian's home in Anderson, Oconee, or Pickens County; a residency waiver can be requested via Clemson's appeals form for other circumstances.
- First-year students living in University Housing are required to select an Unlimited meal plan through the spring semester of their first year; those who don't choose one are defaulted to the Unlimited 200 plan.
- Clemson does not publish air conditioning status on individual hall pages or in the buildings directory -- confirm cooling for a specific building with Residence Life before packing a fan or planning around AC.
